FMVWidescreenMode only determines if you want the video letterboxes cropped to fill the entire screen.Main article: Need for Speed: Most Wanted/Career Mode Plot Leave that on unless you want things to be stretched. That's because you disabled "FixHUD" which is responsible for the aspect ratio correction of everything 2D, including the FMVs. I'll ask ThirteenAG about making it so people don't have to do this anymore, since it's an easy thing to fix. You have to make a new profile if you disable widescreen mode, because it's tied to your saved data. If your GPU is capable of scaling resolutions correctly, then you'll have black bars on the top and bottom but everything will fit. If your resolution is 1280x800, then the 16:9 equivalent would be 1280x720. You can get around this by using HUDWidescreenMode=0.Īlternatively, you can use a 16:9 resolution instead. We use the native widescreen mode the game has, which only supports 16:9. What I do remember is that some of the settings seem to be pretty interdependent, which is why I had to set all values to 0 to make the HUD work for my 16:10 screen, not sure if that is intended.Įdit: I just discovered that when I leave all settings at the default value and change only FMVWidescreenMode to 0 the cutscenes are like they would be with a 4:3 resolution as compared to what I wrote above, when I set all settings to 0 the cutscenes are perfect, full side to side with a small black bar at top and bottom, like any movie on my screen. It seems to be a pretty recent regression, previous version I had wasn't to old as far as I remember. Specifing the resolution in the settings file doesn't help either. ![]() Interestingly though, the cutscenes are perfect, just the right size and ratio, or so it seems (whereas if I activate the fix they are too big, but again, 16:10). More importantly though, with the latest version, no matter what combination of values I choose in the mod settings file, even with all values at 0, the HUD goes either slightly beyond the screen like I just described or even more so, basically halfway out of the screen, not sure if stretched. If you could implement a check for the screen ratio of the resolution and adjust it accordingly, that would be super nice. With 16:10 resolution the HUD during races goes beyond the sides of the screen.
